Once the player has collected enough Cat Shines, they can use a new power-up in the form of the Giga Cat Ball. He will attack players as they explore the environment, but his spikes also open up alternate paths to explore. Lake Lapcat's open-world also features a day-night cycle, as Bowser's awakening will cause the skies to darken. He has his own moveset as he flies around in his clown car and can paint various parts of the world to create power-ups. Bowser's Fury also brings its own mechanics - players explore an open-world environment, with a second player able to take control of Bowser Jr. Players can now collect stamps from around various levels and add those stamps to pictures they take in-game with the new snapshot mode. Plenty of earlier games released on the WiiU have found a new life on the Switch, and players will soon get to decide if the same fate is in store for 3D World.
It sold over five million copies, and while that sounds impressive, it's less than half of the 12 million copies sold by its predecessor.
